4. Is idli hot ?                                                                  :- Idli sooda irukka?

5. Yes, Idli is very hot.                                               :- Aama, Idli nalla sooda irukku.

6. I want 2 idli                                                                  :- Enakku rendu idli vaenum.

7. Don't you want vade.                                             :- Vada vaenama?

8. I don't want Vada. Two idli are enough.          :- Enakku vada vaenam. Rendu idli podhum.

9. Is it ready or will it get late?                                :- Thayara irukka?.. illa late aaguma?

10. It is not ready                                                       :- Thayara illa.

11. How much time will it take?                              :- Evvalavu naeram aagum?

12. It will take 10 minutes.                                      :- Paththu nimisham aagum.

13. Idli is ready.                                                      :- Idli thayar.

14. Have your bill sir.                                                    :- Bill eduthukonga sir.

15. Where to pay the cash?                                         :- Panam, enga kudukkanum.

16. Pay the cash in the front counter?                   :- Panaththa, munnadi irukka counterla kudunga.

17. Are you satisfied with our food sir?                :- Enga sapadu ungalukku thripthiya irundhucha sir?

18. I liked it.                                                                    :- Enakku pudichu irukku.

19. I will keep coming to eat here from now on.        :- Inimae naan inga dhan vandhu sapuduvan.

8. No news/ nothing special                                      :- vishaesham edhum illa.

Conversation:  English  to Tamil (This blog will teach you how to speak in colloquial way in tamil)

1. Hi Sir                                     :- Vanakkam sir !

2. Hi, how are you                :- Vanakkam, Eppadi irukeenga (With respect & plural form use same)
                                                     :- Vanakkam, Eppadi irukka (Without respect,used the same for both genders)

3. I am fine.                               :- Nalla irukan.

4. How are you                          :- Neenga eppadi irukeenga?  (Formal)
                                                            Ni eppadi irukka ?  (Informal)

5. I am an Eng. student       :- Naan oru engineering maanavan (For masculine)
                                                       :- Naan oru engineering maanavi (For feminine)

Note: In the above sentences maanavan and manavi is the actual word used in tamil, but in colloquial way we just say student only because of english language influence.
So, it would be  :   " Naan oru engineering student"

6. What is your name          :- Unga paeru enna? (With respect)
                                                      :- Un paeru enna? (Without respect,used the same for both genders)

7. My name is Kavitha          :- En paeru Kavitha ( Can be used by both the genders)

8. Who are you?                    :- Neenga yaaru? (With respect)
                                                     :- Neengalam yaaru? (For plural)
                                                     :- Ni yaaru ?  (Without respect,used the same for both genders)

9. Which is your native?      :- Unga sondha ooru edhu? (With respect)
                                                        :- Un sondha ooru edhu? (Without respect,used the same for both genders)

10. Who is this?                                :- Ivanga yaaru? (With respect poiting a 2nd person it can be male or female)
    Who is she?                                  :- Iva yaaru?   (Pointing a 2nd person - Female informal)
    Who is he?                                    :- Ivan yaaru? (Pointing a 2nd person - Male informal)
    Who is this?                                  :- Idhu yaaru? (It is a way you don't specify gender - informal way)
Note: All these are used when the person is beside you.

11. This is Krishna                              :- Ivanga Krishna. (With respect)
                                                                 :- Idhu Krishna (Informal way)

12. This is Radha                              :- Ivanga Radha (With respect)
                                                                 :- Idhu Radha (Informal)

       Who is she?                               :- Avanga yaaru? (With respect - Female)
        Who is that?                            :- Adhu yaaru? ( Informal, not specifes the gender)
Note: When the person is away from you.

                                                            :- Ivaru paeru krishna (2nd person)
      Her name is Radha               :- Avanga paeru Radha (3rd person)
                                                            :- Ivanga paeru Radha (2nd person)

15. Which place is he from?          :- Avaru endha oorukararu? (Formal)/ Avan endha ooru? (Informal)
       Which place is she from?        :- Avanga endha oorukaranga? (Formal)/Ava endha ooru? (Informal)

16. What is his name ?                      :- Avaru paeru enna? (Formal)/ Avan paeru enna? (Informal-3rd person)
                                                                   :- Ivaru paeru enna? (Formal)/ Ivan paeru enna? (Informal -2nd person)
       What is her name?                      :- Ivanga paeru enna? (Formal)/ Iva paeru enna? (Informal -2nd person)
                                                         :- Avanga paeru enna?(Formal)/Ava paeru enna? (Informal -3rd person)
